A salihundam is situated at distance of 18kms. from srikakulam town.
Salihundam, on the right bank of the river Vamsadhara, about 116 kms from Visakhapatnam, in the Srikakulam district, there are a number of Buddhist stupas and huge monastic complex on a hillock amidst scenic surroundings.
You can see Maha Stupa, Votive Stupas, Platforms and Viharas.
There's distinct evidence of the presence of the Vajrayana cult.
From here, Buddhism spread to Sumatra and other Far-Eastern countries.
