Visakhapatnam Tourism

Visakhapatnam, city of cultural & religious diversity was named after the God of valour, Visakha. Once a small fishing village, it transformed into a port town under the British. Now a bustling industrial and commercial city, it is the site of the country's largest shipbuilding yard. The most famous landmark at Visakhapatnam is the Dolphin's Nose, a rocky promontory in the port, 358 m high. Visakhapatnam, or Vizag as it was often called, is the true spot where one can find the beauty of Andhra. From Lakes to cool Beaches, from beautiful Hill Ranges to Caves and Valleys enclosures, Vizag has them all. Located on the shores of the Bay of Bengal, Visakhapatnam has a typical coastal climate. Best time to visit is October to February.
